My father, Carlos Fernandez, died on May 11, 2020 from Covid-19 at North Shore Medical Center in Manhasset, NY. He battled Covid-19 for 7.5 weeks, 3.5 which were in the hospital and 17 days on a ventilator. He had every medication and treatment possible including plasma. Nothing worked. He immigrated here from the Dominican Republic in 1976 and owned his own contracting company. He left behind me along with 5 other children, my mom and 19 of his own siblings.
