My 58-year-old father was in a local hospital for an issue unrelated to COVID-19. He contracted COVID-19 from a nurse taking care of him, when his own children weren’t allowed to visit him due to COVID-19 restrictions. On day 12, he was put on a ventilator due to the damage the virus caused to his lungs, when he previously had no prior respiratory conditions and never smoked. He was on the ventilator for 22 days before he passed away.
