The COVID pandemic has caused irreparable damage to several families around the world, and my family happens to be one of them. My worst nightmare came true when our family tested positive for COVID-19 after spending the past 12 months taking the utmost care and avoiding all risks to protect our family. A few days after testing positive for COVID-I9, I ended up in the emergency room, and my father was admitted to the hospital. Unfortunately for my father, he was worsening and was not able to recover. He passed away due to a heart attack and brain hemorrhage. My father was an amazing person, and his smile could brighten any room. He was kind, hardworking, and selfless. My dad was my hero. It is painful to witness the suffering of our loved ones. The month spent at the hospital witnessing my father’s suffering broke me. I was mentally scarred to see my father helpless and struggling to breathe. It has been six months since we lost him. I have very painful memories that I am hoping time will heal. Losing my father to COVID-19 has been very difficult to accept. My heart goes out to all the families who have been affected by COVID-19.
