My mother was my best friend and the greatest mom. As a grandma, wife, sister, aunt, great aunt, friend, her selflessness and loving way was extended to everyone she knew. The epitome of a helper, kind, and compassionate. Anyone who knew her or just met her would express that.. I often heard “oh, Maria is your mom? They would go on “she is so kind, so sweet and caring; you’re lucky to have a mom who ….. (if she could do something for you she would). Her 3 greatest loves: family, family, family. It wasn’t just our relatives, anyone who came to my mom’s table was “family.” She loved gathering at church every Sunday. She even figured out how to watch a live stream on her iPad. She had the heartiest laugh and a smile that would light up a room. COVID-19 took her on April 9th, gone way too soon. She had so much more love and laughs to share with us. Her legacy will live on in all of us; family, friends and all who were lucky enough to know her.
