Hello,
My name is Joelle and I am a Retired Detroit Police Officer. I am also a Hospice Chaplain as well. I contracted COVID 19 and my husband rushed me to the hospital on March 22, 2020. I went in with horrific pain and a fever of 104. They stabilized me and sent me home that evening to die. (I was told to manage my symptoms). The next morning my husband was so sick as well. He had an underline illness of diabetes. He drove himself to the hospital, while leaving me at home incapacitated with two boys. We have a 16 year old and an 11 year old. My husband was placed on a ventilator the next day and he died 10 days later. My family square has changed forever, my husband was always in our corners. He was a business, wonderful husband, father and Musician. People need to understand that COVID 19 is real. I had to plan his funeral alone while on quarantine. I survived COVID 19 but a part of me passed away with my husband. We were married 18 years!!!
