Miguel A. Cortes “Bebe”, 62, of Paterson, NJ passed away on June 5, 2020. Born in Paterson, Bebe was a young boy full of life who enjoyed art and playing with his family and friends. At the age of 17 Bebe began to suffer from mental illness but his disability did not define him. He was way more than life itself. Bebe had a fond love for music and dancing. You will remember him as an avid basketball fan who had a way with the ladies. He enjoyed food and sweets; he would never miss out on having his bottle of Coca-Cola and Reese’s peanut butter cups. He treasured his family more than anything and had an adoration for his one and only sister Gloria. He never worried about himself his only worry was his sister. His family was his world and he was ours. Recently, Bebe moved closer to home into a nursing home facility back on October of 2019. Unfortunately, this is where he was exposed to Covid. His first symptom began on April 26th. He began to have difficulty breathing a week after and was admitted to the hospital. On May 9th he was put on the vent. He fought a long hard fight but grew tired; he passed away on June 5th, 2020 after being on the vent for 28 days. If you were lucky enough to know Bebe, you knew what a warm, lively personality he had, on top of an exuberant laugh. His smile was truly magnetic and in turn, made you smile. All those who knew him can attest that his positive and happy outlook on life was contagious. He is truly missed beyond words can explain.
