I tested positive for Covid-19 back in July, I was home for a week with fever, coughing and other symptoms. I have asthma. I felt horrible but I was managing. After a week, my O2 started going down and I had shortness of breath, so I decided to go to hospital; they admitted me, I had Covid-19 and pneumonia. The next day, everything started going wrong. They had to take me to ICU to help my breathing. They put a mask on me to help my breathing and that’s the last I remember. I ended up being put on a ventilator for 3 weeks, I had kidney failure put on dialysis and other organs were failing. The doctors told my family I would not make it and have no quality of life. The doctors wanted to DNR me twice but my family said no. I woke up 3 weeks later. I had to go to rehab and learn how to walk again and feed myself again. It was an experience like no other, it was so surreal. I have 2 beautiful children who I was not able to see for 2 months. I’m so thankful for FaceTime. I am doing better now I truly believe in the power of prayer, my kidneys got better and I’m off of dialysis. I do still get short of breath and walking long distances takes a lot out of me, but I’m getting there. Thank you for letting me share my story it’s been an emotional ride for me and my family.
